Joan L. “Cookie” Stuckly, age 84, of Tinley Park, IL passed away peacefully on July 10, 2021 with her loving family at her side.
Joan is the loving wife of 64 years to Donald Stuckly; proud mother to Diane (Mike) Tholl, Michael (Evlynne) Stuckly, Cheryl (Ken) Kurek and Don Stuckly; cherished grandmother to Jaclyn (Ross) Tolinski, Lauryn (Frank) Fioretti, Brian (Eleonora) Tholl, Jessica (Sam Shaner) Kurek and Kylie Kurek; great-grandmother to Michael, Anthony and Roch; devoted daughter to the late Sam and Rose LaPinzine; cousin to many.
Joan was a faithful member of St. George Catholic Church. She enjoyed showing her love through cooking for her family. Joan came from a generation of mothers and fathers where family was the center of daily living and unconditional love of her children was demonstrably apparent to her family’s, friends, relatives and acquaintances. Over the past few years as her health declined, she relied more and more on her children to assist her. Perhaps their love for her can best be expressed by declaring that it was an absolute privilege to care for her.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 13, 2021 from 2:00-8:00 pm at Brady-Gill Funeral Home (16600 S. Oak Park Ave.; Tinley Park, IL 60477). And again from 8:30 am on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 until time of prayers at 9:15 am at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am Wednesday at St. George Catholic Church. She will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery.
