Obituary

Anthony Philbin, born in Chicago, age 86, passed away peacefully. Beloved son of the late Peter and Delia (nee Mularkey) Philbin, natives of Glencullen, County Mayo, Ireland; Loving brother of the late Mary Philbin; Fond uncle and cousin to many including the late Bridget “Delia” O’Keefe (nee Mullarkey), the late Christina Bilbo, Patricia O’Keefe, Angela, Michael, the late Delia and Martin Kelly and Family, Thomas, Ann, Marian, Carolyn, Patricia, Kevin, Martin, Kolleen and Gene; Dear friend to so many. Anthony was the president of the Wrightwood Improvement Association. The organization’s objectives are to provide charitable and educational services to the residents and businesses in the Greater Ashburn Community as well as nearby areas of the southwest side of Chicago. He was also the former Vice-President of the Greater Ashburn Planning Association. Tony was a devoted Catholic and long-time parishioner of St. Thomas More Church. He cherished and embraced his Irish heritage. The Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 23rd, 2020 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 2825 W. 81st St.,  (81st and California), Chicago. Due to Covid 19 restrictions, only 90 people and the family can attend the mass. If you wish to attend the funeral mass, please RSVP next to the service information on the website below the obituary. Facial covering and social distancing will be required.  Interment will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery where he will be laid to rest with his beloved parents.  Family and friends are encouraged to sign the online guestbook and leave a condolence message at www.bradygill.com  Info.
