Amelia Cymerman, age 92, of Tinley Park, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2021 with her loving family at her side.
Amelia was born in Poland on February 16, 1928 to Anna Kosmala. She is the loving wife to the late Edward, cherished mother to the late Isabel Steinbeiss, John (Lisa) Cymerman, Diane Cymerman, and Mark (Tricia) Cymerman; proud grandmother to Christine, Meghan, Marcus, and Adam; step-grandmother to Jenna, Brooke, Zachary, and Alexis; great grandmother to Abby & Oliver; beloved sister to Stella Wolf and many other siblings that did not survive WWII in Europe.
Amelia with her mother and sister survived World War II, after which she met, fell in love and married her love of her life Edward in England. She and Edward immigrated to the United States on the Queen Mary in 1950. She was a devoted Roman Catholic. Amelia enjoyed her summer home in Woodhaven, where she loved to garden and mushroom hunt.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 14 from 2:00-6:00 pm at Brady-Gill Funeral Home (16600 S. Oak Park Ave.; Tinley Park, IL 60477). Guests are encouraged to RSVP a time to visit with the family and to attend her mass on the Brady-Gill website to regulate the attendance. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, February 15, 2021 at St. Stephen Deacon and Martyr Catholic Church (17500 84th Ave; Tinley Park, IL 60477). Masks and social distancing is required.
