CLARA WAS A WONDERFUL PERSON. SHE ALWAYS ACCEPTED ME AND MY CHILDREN FOR FAMILY, KNOWING THAT WE WERE NOT BLOOD. SHE ALWAYS WAS HAPPY TO SEE US AND ASKED ELLEN HOW WE WERE DOING ALL OF THE TIME.

Gram,

You taught me so many things in my life ...

How to crochet,

how to appreciate old radio shows,

how to look after myself ...

You were there for me so many times ...

When my parents built a house,

Every family function,

When I came home from school ...

I don't know how to say thank you

For helping me to be who I am.

I wish I'd taken more time lately,

The time I meant to take ...

To come for a visit,

and stay for a weekend,

and learn the answers to all my questions

that only you could answer ...

But your time has passed,

and now I'll always wonder

about all of the things I never knew

or you told me but I had forgotten.

At least I got to say I love you,

one last time before you left,

and I got to say thank you,

though I couldn't thank you enough ...

Just for everything you've done for me,

and all the times you were there for me.

I hope you knew how much you meant

In my life, especially those times

that I forgot to tell you.

I'm telling you now,

and I hope you can hear me ...

So go with God, Grandma,

Say hi to Grampa and Uncle Tom for me,

Look in on me from time to time ...

I'll miss you and I love you,

Always.
