Her beloved husbands Edward B. Mullen (1921-1972), Christopher J. Heaney (1917-1988), and Walter S. Adams (1911-2002) brought her joy and treasured memories. Ruth was predeceased by her parents, Millie and Glenn Wilson, her brother, Donald Wilson, and Curt’s father, Donald Cole. She was a parishioner at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Lemont. Ruth retired from Illinois Bell in 1981, where her career led her from switchboard operator to building service forewoman. An inveterate supporter of the disabled, Ruth served the Apostolate of the Handicapped and was a catechist for the St. Alphonsus Spred Group, where she shared a lovely bond with her friend, Greg Kilis. Ruth played anything with keys – organ, piano - even accordion, and she loved a good sing-along. She enjoyed traveling, and family members have fond memories of a wide range of journeys and adventures. In her later years, Ruth was confined to a wheelchair. Family, friends, devoted neighbors, phone calls, card games, and her own positive attitude kept her going. The family wishes to thank caregiver, Martha Powell, who took wonderful care of Ruth for over three years, keeping her safe and in her home.
