Helen Lesiecki

Helen (Koster) Lesiecki passed away on July 8, 2015 at age 89. Her sister Roberta (Koster) Lynch, her five children Michael, Peter, Christina (Nystuen), Andrew and Bill along with six grandchildren survive her. Her husband Louis Lesiecki and sister Dorothy (Koster) Kowal predeceased her. Born in Hammond, Indiana, Helen was a National Honors Society graduate of Parker High class of 1944.
Helen worked for United Airlines up to the birth of her first child. As she raised her children she held various part time jobs, culminating in executive assistant positions at Littons and the Regional Transportation Authority.
Helen and Lou loved the road, exploring much of the country, visiting their children and traveling with friends. A passionate lifelong reader, she imbued the love of reading in her children, and spread her passion volunteering as a literacy tutor.
Her children remember her kindness and unconditional love for them. Her grandchildren enriched her life and she theirs. As charter resident of Smith Village in Chicago for the past seven years, she valued her independence and the friendships she made there.

My deepest sympathy to the wonderful family of Lou & Helen Lesiecki. I will miss you mom so much every time I visit over at Smith Village. I loved her through and through as the matriarch of your family and dear friend to my mother & father. I know you will carry her wonderful spirit with you until you meet her again.
God bless!
Carolyn Schultz McDonnell
