John was a good friend and mentor. He was my first Department Chair at Moraine Valley . We also were in graduate school together. he suggested I apply for a teaching position at the college. He will be missed by the faculty and his students.

Dear Sandy: I am so sorry to hear of John's passing. I became a member of MVCC family in April 1974 when John hired me as a Safety Security Officer under his direction. He was a wonderful boss and very patient with everyone in the office. He was admired and respected by all of us. He taught us the basics and more of law e forcement and I will never forget him. God bless you.

Sandy,
We at Moraine Valley will miss John and remember the influence he had, starting so many in a Law Enforcement careers.

John was my first Instructor here and hired me in the early 70’s. His leadership formed the basis for the Moraine Valley Police department and allowed countless students,in the then security department; to learn our craft and be successful as we ventured into the many local, state and federal agencies thought-out the county that hired us. John was a friend and mentor to so many. His law enforcement legacy lives on in all the careers he started… God bless you and your family.

John was a gifted professor and much loved colleague. He did much to help Moraine Valley Community College become the nationally noted college that it is. He was always there for his students and his colleagues. Rest in peace, John. You will be sorely missed.

My condolences to Johns family. I was a student of John's and one of his first employees at MVCC in 1973. John was the greatest influence in my college and early professional career and gave me more confidence than any other mentor and teacher. Although I have not seen or talked with John for many years I feel a great emptiness now, he was extraordinary and I miss his presence. Rest in peace John, 10-42.
