Just heard (20 February) of John passing. Worked with John in Area 2 and our paths crossed changing shifts. Always enjoyable to talk to and sometimes working together. He was a great guy. I extend my condolences and prayers to the family.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Dougherty family at this time. John will be missed by many. As his old neighbor I remember John cutting his grass with 3 guns on him as he pushed his mower. I asked him why he had to carry his guns with mowing his lawn. He always said" Ya never know when ya may need it, always be prepared!" We then laughed. A great neighbor and friend. Your in good hands now John. RIP John Dougherty. A great man.

John always lit up a room with his sly smile. He was always there if you needed ANYTHING. A great competitor on the golf course, funny, and he will be missed by many.

Redbird forever!

May God bless you John. You were a great neighbor. I remember the time I found your only Harley Davidson key that you lost in the parking lot the day before you were going to Sturgis. You sent enough beer over here to immobilize an army!! Only last week he responded to and comforted a resident who fell on the ice and covered him with his overcoat until ambulance company 17 arrived on scene. I salute you Sir. Neil. Ambulance 60 CFD.
