S. Maria Mercanti Wallich, age 87, Born in Rome, Italy on February 1, 1925 to the late Elizbetta and Guido Mercanti. Beloved wife of the late Walter. Loving mother of Sharon (late Stuart) Mackie and Betty (Duane) Diehl. Proud Nonna of Tori (Michael) Viana and Kenny Plebanski. Devoted sister of the late Mario, Valeria and Fernada. Also loved by many nieces and nephews both here and in Rome. Maria was a WW II war bride. Family and friends will gather on Saturday morning for visitation 9:00 am at St. Mary Church, 19515 S. 115th Ave., Mokena, IL 60448, until time of Mass at 9:30 am. Entombment Good Shepherd Cemetery. To my dear mother, I am going to miss you so much and I could not have asked for a better mother then you were to me and my sister. You made me the person I am today and I will always be grateful for that. I will always love you and always hold you dear to my heart forever and ever. I know you don't want us to cry but mom I can not hold back the tears. I love you mommy and will miss you so much. You are know with your family in heaven and one day we will all be together again.
