Uncle Matt was always friendly and kind to me, and I was always SO excited when my Chicago relatives came to visit us Northern "country bumpkins"! One of my favorite memories of Uncle Matt was the day he allowed me to drive his car as fast as I could on a straight stretch of County 16. We hit three digits! Don't tell anyone since I did not even have a drivers license. I'm sure the laws are different in heaven! You are missed, Uncle Matt.

Deepest sympathy to all the family whose heart Matt has touched. I know him as a kind man who regaled me with stories of his work experience, time in the service and general good humor. My father, who has passed on as well, really enjoyed Matt. Matt is with our Lord and Father now. Although we are sad , I am sure he is not. May God bless you all.

We will miss Uncle Matt very much and though he is with the Lord, he will bring much joy to the Father in heaven as he did here on Earth. Always a smile and a willingness to help. Joyfilled heart and a rich sound of laughter. His face always lit up! Our thoughts and prayers are with all the family members! We love all of you.

What can we say? Matt was the kindest and dearest man we ever met. A true gentleman to the very end. So sorry that we are out of town and unable to be there for the family. Our love and condolences to all of you. God Bless Matt and his memory. We know he already made a speedy trip to heaven.
