William V Killoran

William V. Killoran, Age 90, Of Pharr, TX, formerly of Chicago, Washington and Canton, IL. Died suddenly on Friday, November 25, 2011, in McAllen, TX. He was born in Ft. Wayne, IN on March 24, 1921, to Charles Killoran and Cecelia nee Schenk. Bill grew up in Chicago, graduated from Foreman High School, served honorably in the Army during W.W. II, and attended Northwestern University. He was married to Dorothy Ryan for 35 years until her death in 1986. In 1989 he married Mary Harker of Canton, IL and Pharr, TX who survives him. Loving father of William V. Killoran, Jr. (Elizabeth Armbruster) of Weston, CT, Mary Jo Killoran (Robert Zalesky) of Chicago, Kevin Killoran (Jeanne Strout) of San Jose, CA and Kathleen Killoran of Chicago. Dear brother of Patricia Phillips of Los Altos, CA. and the late Mary Roff. Proud grandfather of Christopher Killoran, Charles Killoran, Ryan Killoran, Megan Killoran and Michaela Killoran. Bill worked for Westinghouse Electric for more than 25 years, rising to Peoria District Manager, and subsequently worked for other local appliance, furniture and air conditioning businesses. He was a member of St. Patrick’s and St. Monica’s parishes in Washington and East Peoria, IL., where he served as an usher and an active member of The Knights of Columbus. Following his retirement to Pharr, TX he was an active member of the McAllen Heart Hospital Volunteers, Texas Trails Recreational Park and Our Lady of Sorrows Parish. He was devoted to his children and grandchildren, attending their sporting , musical, theatre and scouting events, supporting their achievement of college and advanced degrees, and with his wife Mary, taking the grandkids on motor coach adventures. Each fall, he renewed his lifelong support of Notre Dame Football. He leaves a legacy of love, integrity and support for his family that lives on. Family and friends will meet on Friday, Dec. 2, 2011 for visitation from 9:30 AM until time of Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM at Most Holy Redeemer  Church 96th & Lawndale Evergreen Park, IL. Interment St. Mary Cemetery. Arrangements by Brady-Gill Funeral Home Evergreen Park, IL. In lieu of flowers donations to The American Heart Association or Maryknoll Missionaries appreciated. 708-636-2600 or
